The issue of jury service is a topical one as a result of the recent collapse of a trial in Ennis Circuit Court because an insufficient number of prospective jurors turned up on the day. The Fair Deal Scheme has been the subject of much speculation in the last number of weeks regarding questions of funding. However the H.S.E. have stated that applications are still being processed.
